About The Event
Soprano Katherine Whyte, originally from the greater Hamilton area, returns for a special homecoming performance after captivating audiences on some of the world's most prestigious stages, including the Metropolitan Opera. Known for her emotional depth and vocal mastery, Whyte has taken on leading roles in operas such as Le Nozze di Figaro and Così fan tutte. A passionate advocate for contemporary opera, she has premiered new works and is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of singers.
Joining her is acclaimed pianist Steven Philcox, Associate Professor at the University of Toronto and leader of the Collaborative Piano Program. Philcox, recognized as one of Canada’s premier collaborators, has performed across North America and worked extensively with the Canadian Opera Company. His expertise and nuanced artistry promise to complement Whyte’s powerful performance, creating an unforgettable evening of opera and song. This concert is generously sponsored by Nadine McLean.
